Director of External Engagement
Prita joins Spitfire with a strong background in alliance development and congressional engagement. She works directly with Spitfire president, Kristen Grimm, in support of a broad range of firm initiatives and special projects. She also provides strategic engagement, outreach and digital communications support for a variety of clients including the Nathan Cummings Foundation and the Council for Court Excellence.
Prior to joining Spitfire, Prita worked on the Global Government Affairs team for Amgen, Inc., a California-based biotech company where she focused on congressional outreach and alliance development. At Amgen, Prita cultivated her prowess in relationship building and utilized her skills to increase patient access to life-saving medical treatments, specifically in low-income communities and communities of color.
Prita has a passion for increasing gender parity in politics, developing leadership training for girls, expanding and protecting minority rights and fostering socially conscious entrepreneurship. In addition to her work at Spitfire, Prita serves on the advisory committee of Running Start, is an executive committee member of the Women’s Information Network and is a board member for the National Asian Pacific Women’s Forum. Prita is also a mentor with the Year Up program, which works to close the opportunity divide by providing young women in D.C. with the skills, experience and support that will empower them to reach their full potential.
Prita was born in San Francisco and grew up splitting her time between Napa Valley (Calistoga) and Sacramento. She moved to Washington, D.C. 12 years ago to attend Georgetown University and earn a B.A. in government with an emphasis on political engagement. During her free time, you can find Prita at Nats’ Park cheering on the Washington Nationals, hosting networking events and happy hours, playing with makeup or exploring the city on foot with her husband Evan and their adorable pup, Drogo.
