Nike Ajao

CFO

Nike

As a child, Nike Ajao knew she wanted to make a difference in her career. She was inspired by great figures like Nelson Mandela and her mother, who demonstrated kindness, peace, humility, perseverance, and hard work. Nike watched her mother, an immigrant to America, handle encounters with discrimination and other challenges with strength and grace. These experiences led Nike to decide that she only wanted to work with organizations that help make the world a better place.

As the CFO of Spitfire, Nike is responsible for all aspects of General Ledger. She is responsible for timely monthly/quarterly/annual accounting close, improving existing processes and systems, and identifying, evaluating, recommending, and successfully implementing systems, processes, best practices and tools to support Spitfire. Nike also mentors and manages the Finance Team, which includes establishing policies to maintain the financial security of the firm.

Prior to joining Spitfire, Nike spent over 13 years in the for-profit and nonprofit sector working with organizations dedicated to making a difference in the world through sports, charitable giving, immigrating filing, and strategic communication. She received a B.A. in accounting and international business from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park. Nike also has an MBA and a Master’s in financial management with a concentration in information systems.

Nike has lived in Maryland for over 18 years. She enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and supporting her favorite charities, including the Special Olympics, the American Red Cross, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and AJRR.
