Spitfire worked with ZERO TO THREE to organize a virtual rally, the Rally4Babies, to build support for infant and toddler provisions in President Obama’s Preschool for All Initiative and demonstrate visible support from early learning advocates.

ZERO TO THREE Virtual Rally

Even though ZERO TO THREE (ZTT) had strong relationships with numerous advocacy groups, thought leaders and senior officials at federal agencies, they had never organized such a large-scale outreach event and called in Spitfire to help with both strategy and implementation.

ZTT leveraged its relationships and secured the U.S. Secretaries of Education and Health and Human Services, as well as actress and Save the Children ambassador Jennifer Garner, to participate in the Rally4Babies on Google Hangout.

The #rally4babies hashtag “trended” on Twitter on the day of the rally, with over 1 million Twitter impressions.

Spitfire worked with ZTT to develop a petition geared toward the Obama administration to accompany the rally outreach. To ensure wide reach of the petition and rally, Spitfire coordinated efforts of a coalition of two dozen ZTT partners. At the outset of the initiative, Spitfire designed and collected a survey for advocacy partners and rally co-sponsors to evaluate the digital assets they could offer the campaign. To provide clear guidance on outreach activities and messaging, Spitfire assessed digital assets, then created and distributed a robust digital toolkit that included messaging, petition language, email templates, blog templates, social media posts, media pitch guidance and press contacts.

The #rally4babies hashtag “trended” on Twitter on the day of the rally, with over 1 million Twitter impressions. Spitfire also helped ZTT draft and place an op-ed in USA Today and garnered multiple news articles including a piece on ABC News online that was picked up by news sites across the country, generating millions of audience impressions.
