New Communications Tools at the SPIN Project
The SPIN Project is a San Francisco-based organization providing accessible and affordable strategic communications tools and resources to nonprofit organizations striving to create social change in today’s crowded media environment. Check out the new features on the updated site including:
- A newly-created online directory of communications consultants, from media relations and Web experts to designers and strategists;
- A comprehensive job board;
- Tutorials on topics such as how to develop relationships with reporters;
- A strategic communications plan generator that allows users to submit their plan and receive feedback from a SPIN strategist;
- Links and contact information for clipping and news services, public opinion research, and media activism; and
- Highlights from publications such as Spin Works! A Media Guidebook for the Rest of Us and SPIN e-newsletters.
For more hands-on assistance, SPIN also offers a variety of trainings. The SPIN Academy, a retreat where nonprofit leaders learn how to be more media savvy through communications planning sessions and networking and professional development activities, will be held this year from August 17-21 in Petaluma, Calif. (registration closes July 7). Visit the SPIN site to sign up or learn about other upcoming trainings.
