Jennifer Calloway, Senior Account Manager

 

Jennifer Calloway brings strong public and private sector experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans focused on education, civic and community engagement, government affairs and the arts. She provides support to clients including communications strategy, planning and evaluation, materials development, and media outreach.

Prior to joining Spitfire Strategies, Jennifer was the director of communications and special initiatives for Serve DC - The Mayor’s Office on Volunteerism. She was responsible for steering all external communications for state AmeriCorps programs and emergency preparedness initiatives, citywide days of service and special projects.  

Previously, Jennifer was the press secretary for Chancellor Michelle Rhee and DC Public Schools, serving as the on-the-record spokeswoman during a nationally recognized education reform movement.
 
Jennifer began her issues advocacy career at Westin Rinehart. She managed an education partnership between DuPont and the U.S. Conference of Mayors and supported other clients including the ING Foundation and Scripps Networks.  

Born and raised on the West Coast, Jennifer has a B.A. in American literature from the University of Southern California and earned and M.A. in public communications from American University.
