A skilled researcher and writer, Samantha is an expert at creating and honing messages to help nonprofits more effectively communicate their missions to key audiences. As a senior account executive, Samantha creates op-eds, message points, and branding materials on a variety of issues, including criminal justice, transportation, and the environment.
Samantha’s media research and analysis have helped organizations identify the best ways to frame their issues and provide evidence to funders and stakeholders that advocates have effectively moved the debate. Working closely with the Maryland Office of the Public Defender, she created tailored messaging to educate policymakers about the need to improve eyewitness testimony procedures.
Prior to joining Spitfire, Samantha was the U.S. communications manager for the British Council, the UK’s international cultural relations and education organization. Samantha led internal, external and online communications for three U.S. offices, working across education, arts, climate change, youth leadership and intercultural dialogue issues. During her time with the British Council, she secured top-tier U.S. and international media placements, including The New York Times, NPR, BBC, The Washington Post, Associated Press, The Economist and BBC.
Samantha graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where she was editor-in-chief of the Georgetown Journal of International Affairs.
