Torie Brazitis, Account Executive

Torie Brazitis brings extensive experience in persuasive writing, media targeting and outreach, and the clear messaging of complicated policy priorities to Spitfire Strategies. Torie works with a range of clients, including those active on public health and environmental issues.

Prior to joining Spitfire, Torie was the communications director and press secretary to Congressman Jay Inslee (D-Wash.), where she managed the Congressman’s media schedule, spoke on his behalf in interviews and advised the Congressman on thoughtful, effective media strategy in consultation with legislative staff.

Before working on the Hill, Torie was a public affairs specialist for a public housing authority in Washington State, where she handled media outreach, event planning, and message development on the importance of affordable housing in the community.

Torie served on the editorial board of The Kitsap Sun, a regional daily newspaper with a circulation of 30,000, where she represented the residents of downtown Bremerton, Washington in editorial decisions, including support for community initiatives and candidate endorsements in the 2006 election. She then wrote a popular year-long series of opinion columns for the paper. Previously, Torie served in AmeriCorps, where she taught job skills classes to help long-term recipients of public assistance return to permanent employment.

Torie earned a B.A. in government cum laude with a concentration in Spanish from Franklin and Marshall College (Lancaster, PA).
